Sub Category Properties
A sub category is used to define options available for a particular product. It could be a seed size, genetic trait or other option. These are used to group products.
Each sub category in the tree can be edited by right clicking on the name and selecting the Properties menu option.
A Sub Category can have a separate name and abbreviation. The abbreviation will be used in areas where there is limited space available. These can be the same if needed. Sub Categories are not allowed to be deleted from the system, but they can be hidden which will allow discontinued products to be removed from lists.
Sub Categories can have a price associated with them that will be added on to the base price of a product.
Technology traits can be assigned after the provider and traits have been setup. This creates a relationship between traits and products for generating GPOS reports.
To add a new sub category to a category, right click on the category name or the Sub Category folder and select Add New SubCategory from the menu as shown here.
