Allocations are maintained to a district level yet summarized at the regional level. The following describes how the allocation is used and referenced in the inventory reports.
The regional manager is able to edit the fields outlined in yellow. Total production is entered at the regional level.
For the district manager, they are able to only edit the allocation for their district as outlined below in yellow.
This shows allocations exceeding the total production.
The allocation is validated against the total units sold in the Inventory Summary By Product report as show here:
This report uses visual cues to show areas where the total sales exceeds the allocation for a district. In cases where the allocation is exceeded, the units sold needs to be reduced or units need to be reallocated from other districts to provide additional units for the district that is currently over.
